I always stop and smell the roses.  I love my morning ritual of freshly ground coffee and the slow drip of my pour over.  I commune at the altar of the redwoods.  When that certain warm light streams though my window, I stop and go to my yoga mat - sometime for a short time and often for awhile.  This is the art of slow living.  Being present, finding meaning in the experience and sustenance in mundane everyday things.  It’s slow food, slow cooking, the slow coast.   Discovering a craft or learning a new skill that takes time.  Deliberately spending more time to connect to moments.  Though being mindful is not necessarily about slowing down, slow living is intertwined with the principles of mindfulness.  These moments do not have to be few and far between. As you adopt this way of life the essential becomes clear, you life with aliveness and you pause to  notice the moments between the race to get there.
